WRAP program receiving funds from KACF

LCEDG is preparing to launch a pilot of the Workforce Resource Assistance Program (WRAP) in Lee County. Thanks to startup funding from the Keokuk Area Community Foundation and the North Lee Foundation, LCEDG is hiring a WRAP Specialist to work directly with participating employers and employees. The WRAP Specialist will serve as a resource navigator, helping employees overcome challenges outside of work such as transportation, childcare, housing, or other barriers that can impact attendance, performance, and long-term employment. By connecting employees with local resources before small challenges become major obstacles, WRAP aims to improve employee retention, reduce turnover, and help businesses save on the costly cycle of recruiting and training replacement workers. LCEDG is seeking a small group of businesses and manufacturers to participate in the pilot program beginning later this fall. There is no cost to participate during the first-year pilot, making it a great opportunity to improve retention in entry-level and high-turnover positions while helping build a stronger, more stable workforce. If you're interested in learning more about becoming a employer partner, please contact the LCEDG team (Becky Vogel, bvogel@leecountyedg.com).
