Students from across the region attended the SE Iowa's Career Exploration Day. Lee County EDG partnered with the Greater Burlington Partnership and Southeastern Community College to have 1,032 fifth and eighth grade students, 160 of them from Lee County, explore 6 career paths.

A group from Keokuk Middle School listened to Lynn Lillie RN BSN, Director of Surgical Services at Fort Madison Community Hospital regarding career paths in healthcare that they might not have thought of. "There are many careers and specialties in healthcare," stated Lillie. "It's important to let students know about these careers as well as the traditional ones."

Other career paths students explored included manufacturing, communication, agricultural, and family/community services
