Lee County EDG officially introduced its 5-year strategic plan and campaign during the much-anticipated public kick-off event today over breakfast.
The Lee County EDG established a capital campaign goal of $1,100,000 covering the next five years, to implement an aggressive public/private economic development initiative in Lee County. Campaign Co-Chairs Joe Steil and Jamie Baier announced that the campaign has already raised $1,182,500.00 (108% of goal) from 25 investors.
"As President & CEO of KSB Bank and KSB Insurance, we know our success is directly linked to a healthy economic environment. I believe that all economic stakeholders within Lee County need to come together and join efforts to aggressively address the economic development needs of Lee County, as well as assist industries to expand and choose to locate in Lee County, creating needed job opportunities long into the future for sustained viability." - Joe Steil, KSB Bank
"I am supporting the Lee County campaign because I want my children and the children of Lee County to have good strong economic futures ahead of them without leaving the area. It is time to stop raising other communities' leaders!" - Jamie Baier, Jim Baier, Inc.
Lee County EDG has put together a bold plan, Lee County 2018, to capitalize on our current momentum, a plan that will lead to an economic renaissance in Lee County. Joe Steil and Jamie Baier were joined by Lee County Executive Director Steve Bisenius and Operations Director Dennis Fraise in announcing the details of the program, which calls for focusing 80% of their efforts on business expansion and retention as well as worker attraction and workforce development.
