Congressman Loebsack Visits Lee County Industries
Monday, March 6th, Congressman Dave Loebsack visited Scotts Miracle Gro in Fort Madison and Griffin
Wheel, a division of Amstead Rail, in Keokuk.

The congressman was interested to learn more about products made in Iowa, and Lee County, and what he can do to help companies like these thrive. "Keeping plants… here is very important and trying to
get more in," Loebsack said. "We need to continue to talk about workforce development in this area and that is something very critical. Companies are not going to come to an area where the workforce isn't educated or interested in working."

It was clear on these tours local industries are investing in Lee County. During his tour of Griffin Wheel,
Loeback viewed a recently installed robotic arm, representing a $700,000 investment in new technology.
Loebsack also answered question from employees regarding taxes, social security, and healthcare reform.
